Marie-Madeleine Dolmans, MD, PhD, earned her medical degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, in 2000, and her PhD degree on “Cryopreservation and transplantation of human ovarian tissue” from the same university in 2006. She completed her internship in gynaecology and obstetrics in 2007 and since then has divided her time equally between clinical and research activities. She succeeded Professor Donnez as Head of the Gynaecology Research Unit at the Université Catholique de Louvain in October 2012.
Professor Dolmans’ research work focuses primarily on human ovarian follicle isolation and xenotransplantation, and the risk of re-implanting malignant disease. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. She is a member of the editoral board of Fertility and Sterility and Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics. Professor Dolmans is a member of the board of directors of the International Society for Fertility Preservation (ISFP).
